Nipping is a behavior that many puppies exhibit especially during play and as they begin to explore and experience the world. I ALWAYS recommend training classes for new puppies to help encourage good behavior and discourage bad behavior like nipping. Definitely avoid rough play with your hands and encourage play with toys instead and redirect any nipping towards toys.
