African Grey has very loose ,stinky stool

My 30 yr. old A.G. has been having very loose , stinky stool. He recently went through a period of not wanting to eat his regular diet, so on the advise of a “bird person” on a website, I started changing his diet. He is very picky and it is difficult to find anything he will eat. I am making him veggie “chop” , brown rice and barley (hates it), and Birdy Bread, among other things.
Tried him on some spring mix salad greens, which he seemed to like – but I think that is what started the looseness. He was having the problem before that, but not nearly as bad as now.
There are no avian vets in my area and I have not been able to handle him for over 20 years even if I could find one
Is there anything I can do for him that does not require that I give him injections or otherwise handle him? Neither of us is very happy , right now.

Thanks for your question! My practice is focused more on canine and feline general medicine and surgery rather than exotics. While I might not be the most convenient thing to do, I would definitely schedule an appointment for your AG with an exotics veterinary to get to the root of the problem. Best of luck!
