What dog food (brand/type) do you recommend for a 3 year old golden retriever?

Thank you for your question, it has been held for moderation.

For the past 1 1/2 we have been given our 3 year old Acana dog food but recently read an article where the Acana brand is bad for the dogs heart. I have ask our vet numerous times what kind of dog food do they recommend and I never get an answer. Thank you for any information you can give!

I generally stick to Royal Canin (all of my animals 2 dogs and 3 cats are fed RC) and Hill's Science Diet. Both of these companies and prescription AND over the counter diets which can be found online or at most pet stores. Because of their prescription food lines both companies have put extensive research into their diets so that if your pet ONLY ever eats one of their foods, they are getting all necessary nutrients.
