I love this question and thanks for taking time to ask! So, the research is still underway and new BUT so far there ARE links between BEG (boutique, exotic and grain free) and DCM in dogs that are NOT pre-disposed to DCM. So, i would definitely urge you to talk to your vet about transitioning your pups to a more well balanced diet. The good news is that it appears when diet is corrected the cardiac changes seem to halt and even correct which does not happen in dogs genetically prone to DCM.
