Is it safe for Cats to eat coconut or coconut oil?

I have a Wonderful Cat named “Jimmy Buddy Kitten” 9 year old – Black & white Med length hair Cat. Understandably he gets random ‘hairball’ cough. I brush him 2-3 times a day , and have been drizzling approx 1 Tbsp Olive Oil on his dry food to keep him from ‘hairball’ coughing. This seems a healthier option than the various Hairball products that i have seen offered in most Pet Store Sections or Pet/Vet Stores. Am curious if Olive Oil is the best oil choice, or is Coconut Oil
(or Coconut Milk) safe for Cats ?
A Cat magazine article , recently said that Coconut Oil was good for Cats.
Yet I have read both warnings & recommendations ‘for Coconut Oil’ consumption in Cats, on the Internet from Animal care & Vet websites.
Thank you for please giving your professional healthy opinion regarding Cats using Coconut Oil and Products. Thank you for please giving Various Healthy food Oil options & information that we Cat “Parents” can & cannot allow our Cats to eat. Thank You πŸ˜ΈπŸ˜ŠπŸ’–πŸŽΆ

There is simply no reason to give your cat coconut oil so I would avoid it !
