i have a shih tzu that is licking his paws and getting them to bleed

it been going on for 6 mos. the Vet, , said it is a food allergies he has been on a bland dog food from the Vet. for 9 weeks. a month ago the vet said the dog also has a staff infection they gave use medicine for the staff infection. 1 week after the medicine ran out his pads on his left foot swelled up again and now bleed a little.

I would use an e-collar to prevent your shih-Tzu from excessively licking his paws and yes paw licking can be a sign of allergies so definitely talk to your vet about medications like cytopoint or apoquel to help control the itching!
