Furballs

My oldest cat will not cooperate for being brushed. She is a previously feral cat I rescued when I learned she would be put down… being social isn’t highest on her list making brushing darn near impossible. This leads to her having frequent coughing fits which result in a soggy fur ball being left somewhere in the apartment. Is there anything I can add to her food that would help with the fur balls? It would need to be a food addition as I can’t ‘pill her’ or get her to take those ‘gels for fur balls’ that come in tubes.

Hm, I would say maybe try on of the hairball diets, Royal Canin makes one and consider trying the gels but put them on her food so that you don't have to try and "pill her" which I know can be difficult in the sweetest of kitties! If you do try diet change, just make sure to do so slowly over a 10-14 day period to try and avoid GI upset!
