Fatty tumor

My 15 year old Golden Retriever has a large almost bsketball size fatty tumor on the right side of his body. My vet said if they try to remove it he would probably pass away on the table. It doesn’t bother my dog and he sleeps on ot woth no problems. Any other suggestions?y

Im curious as to why his vet thinks that he is not a good candidate for surgical removal. First I’d want to know the answer to that, but with any cases that I have that are at high risk for anesthesia but require surgery, I refer to specialists with more advanced care options
