I don’t trust dog food given the recent coverage of hill science diet alls and the fact the biochemically, the prescription food, which my puppy has been prescribed, has no medicinal value.

There are certainly medicinal values to many of the prescription diets with kidney disease coming to mind and witnessing improved blood work in animals with renal disease simply with dietary management! If you are skeptical of Hill's look into Royal Canin which makes OTC and Prescription diets. I only recommend home made diets when they are under the direction of veterinary nutritionist so that we can ensure that your pet is not only getting the things it needs in the diet but it is getting them in ways that the body can metabolize
